Darrold Multiveyor has been designed in the light of our past experience in the mechanical handling field. The conveyor is of robust design, with a maximum versatility both for loading and performance in the medium load carrying range, at an extremely competative price.
The chain has a standard pin at every 6in. pitch throughout its length, which is capable of accommodating fixed loads, spinners, load bars, towing attachments etc.
The load ppitch can be arranged to accommodate customers requirements without any variation to the chain build up. The conveyor is capable of being supported either from the floor or from the roof or can be used as a tow line conveyor in the floor itself. Thought has been given to the method of carrying loads and the flexiblity of the pitching of loads.

This is nominally a 12,000 lb. breaking load chain with a 6in. pitch, capable of hinging in two directions. The loads can be carried on two rigid wheels or four rigid wheels by means of the addition of an attachment.

The carrying capacity of the conveyor is 60 lbs. maximum per two wheels and 120 lbs. maximum for four wheels, but is subject to circuit characteristics and working temperature.

The standard chain can be fitted with wheel bearings to suit working temperatures up to 280°C, the type of wheel bearing supplied being dependant on circuit characteristics and working temperature.

Track is manufactured in two halves from heavy gauge and mild steel material, joined together at regular intervals by fixed mild steel straddle plates, which are also used to support the track from either roof or floor supports. However, additional movable straddle plates can be provided which enables the track to be supported at any point along its length. Standard bends are 2 ft. radius on the horizontal and 3 ft. radius on the vertical. Straight track and bends can be provided in as worked normal condition or case hardened depending upon circuit characteristics, loading and chain pull. No special connectors are required and the whole of the track and bends can be erected without any site welding.

Our standard drive is of the caterpillar type mounted over the top of the track and designed to work equally well in either forward or reverse directions, if required drive to the caterpillar chain drive shaft is via a precision transmission chain drive, incorporating a safety shear device, from an oil immersed worm gear reduction unit. Drive to the reduction unit can be either fixed or variable speed and in the case of the variable speed drive can be controlled by either mechanical or electrical means. Mechanical speed controls is normally via a variable vee belt pulley unit giving a theoretical speed range of 4:1 and electrical control via thyristor controlled motor giving a speed range of 10:1.

These can either be floor or roof mounted. The roof mounting being of the tubular type with adjustable end connections and capable of being re-used should the conveyor be re-located.
